📌 .CHM is a documentation help file, arranged and compiled into a unified HTML-object container. The resulting files may contain built-in hyperlinks, images and texts. In addition, .CHM-data type can be effortlessly reviewed and opened in any compliant web-browser. All of the desktop apps and web-projects can interact with the .CHM resources in the form of online help documents. The format is based on compressed open HTML-data sources and may include any of the content, typical of .HTML category. By default, the outcome files are processed and managed by an internal viewer, integrated into the system from the very start.
📌 .CHM file category is supported by all desktop and mobile platforms with appropriate clauses. In non-Windows and mobile shells the .CHM extension cannot be processed and opened up by default and would require complementary software preinstallation and configuration on the earlier stage.
